Ice Storm Causes Major Water Damage When the Water Line In Attic Ruptures
When facing an ice storm it is difficult to determine whether or not you will be faced with a frozen water line, and if it does freeze if, or when a line will rupture. The main water line for this residence is located in the attic of a multi level home. Once the line thawed the water immediately began to flow from the attic causing the insulation to become saturated, and the ceiling to fall. All of the attic was affected along with the insulation. The insulation and the ceiling had to be removed until just the rafters remained. After the drying process a water mitigation is performed to avoid mold.
